Building with ICF: real on-site experience from the Heredia project

OKO_MEMB_3

At OKO HAUSEN, we believe the best way to communicate a construction system is through the professionals who work with it every day on site. For this reason, we are sharing a two-part interview with Winston, the Master Builder of the Heredia project, who tells us about his first-hand experience working with the ICF construction system.

From technical execution to logistics and material management, his testimony reflects how this methodology transforms the way high-performance, sustainable homes are built in Costa Rica.

Part One: first experience with the ICF system

In the first part of the interview, Winston talks about his initial experience working with the ICF system and how he adapted to a construction methodology that differs from traditional building methods.

He highlights the system’s structural strength, execution precision, and the speed at which different construction stages progress. According to his experience, ICF allows for a more organized process, with less improvisation and greater control from the very beginning of the project.

He also emphasizes a key aspect of the Heredia project: the strong connection between the house and its natural surroundings. The way architecture and design integrate with the landscape not only enhances the aesthetic value of the home, but also has a direct impact on client satisfaction. The client is very pleased with the views, the relationship with nature, and the overall comfort of the house.

Part Two: logistics, materials, and on-site efficiency

In the second part of the interview, Winston goes deeper into the technical aspects of the construction process, focusing on logistics and material usage.

He explains how the ICF system simplifies on-site organization, reduces unnecessary material movement, and enables more efficient planning at every stage of construction. Thanks to its lightweight, versatile, and precise nature, the system creates a cleaner, safer, and more controlled work environment.

This efficiency not only results in shorter construction timelines, but also delivers superior build quality, reduced waste, and a final outcome that fully aligns with OKO HAUSEN’s standards.

A system experienced on every project

Winston’s testimony confirms what we promote in every OKO HAUSEN project: ICF is not just a construction technology, but a comprehensive methodology that improves the building experience, optimizes resources, and elevates the final result for clients, professionals, and construction teams alike.

The Heredia project is a clear example of how innovation, when properly implemented, translates into efficiency, quality, comfort, and client satisfaction.

We continue building homes designed for today and prepared for the future.
